Briefing reporters yesterday in Dar es Salaam, PPF Public Relations and Marketing manager Lulu Mengele (pictured) said over 500 members are expected to attend the two days conference.
According to Mengele, the Fund will use the conference to educate its members on other schemes as well as their education and maternity benefits.
“The members will also be provided with the Fund’s annual report,” she said.
She took the opportunity to highlight that PPF has been doing well over the years and in the year ending December 2015 its value amounted to 2.2trn/-.
“Members will be briefed on the Fund performance and given chance to air their opinions on how to improve services,” she added.
On her part, PPF Senior Public Relations Officer, Janeth Ezekiel said the Wote Scheme will cover and appreciate the value and participation of the informal sector.
“The scheme will offer better opportunities to the informal sector and act as a catalyst to their economic activities and social protection,” she said.
“The Wote scheme is open to all people in the informal sector including fishermen, farmers, artisanal miners, artists, food vendors, small and medium sized entrepreneurs,” she detailed.
